Create control host masking view

This feature allows the creation of a control host in a single operation and supports a reduction in the number of associated gatekeepers to a default of 4.

About this task

To create a control host masking view:

Steps

  1. Select the storage system.
  2. Select Hosts > Hosts.
  3. Select a host, click An icon showing three dots arranged in a vertical row, signifying a menu with more options, and then click Create Control Host Masking View.
  4. Optional: Modify the automatically populated Masking View name and Storage Group name.
  5. Optional: Modify the number of Gatekeepers.
    The default number of gatekeepers is 4, and this number is also the minimum number allowed. New gatekeepers are created. Existing and unused gatekeepers are not used.
  6. Do one of the following:
      • Select the port group type and an existing port group.
      • Select a host.
      • Select a new port group.
      • Select the port group type.
      • Optional: Modify the automatically populated Port Group name.
      • Optional: Select Include ports not visible to host.
      • Select one or more ports.
  7. Do one of the following:
    • Click Run Now to perform the operation now.
    • Expand Run Now, and click Add to Job List to add this task to the job list, from which you can schedule or run the task at your convenience. For more information, see Schedule jobs and Preview jobs.
